I was given excellent care by Mr Wijeratna for my very painful right shoulder. As the scan showed severe osteo arthritis a replacement operation was done at the end of January 2020. I was in hospital for a very short time; admitted Saturday then discharged to my son's care on Monday afternoon. There is no pain any longer and I have almost regained full movement in the right arm and shoulder.

Shoulder replacement surgery is improving all the time and it can change many patient's lives! I would recommend that patients don't suffer in silence and seek help sooner rather than later.

From my first consultation to my last with mr Wijeratna he made me feel totally at ease explaining exactly what was going to happen during my surgery .He came to see me just before I was to go down for surgery and as soon as I came out of surgery to enquire about my health, If I we're ever to have the misfortune to ever need surgery again I wouldn't hesitate to have Mr Wijeratna perform it . Mr Andrew Mobbs.

I would highly recommend this doctor, he listened carefully to what I had to say regarding my conditions. He then explained to me what treatment was required to get me back to normal. After my successful operation the aftercare was excellent and six months on I am now back to normal. Thank you Mr Wijeratna and team.

I have been incredibly fortunate to find myself under the care of Mr Wijeratna twice now having suffered from ‘frozen shoulder’ in both shoulders, one at a time. Having first been referred to him via a health care organisation and having a private consultation, I was able to change back to the NHS and continue receiving his care and ultimately having him operate on both of my shoulders. I can honestly say that I have utmost faith in Mr Wijeratna. He is so knowledgeable, professional, an expert in his field yet really approachable and ‘human’. Don’t suffer with adhesive capsulitis or any other shoulder condition, make an appointment to see Mr Wijeratna either privately or ask to be referred through the NHS system (which takes a lot longer).

I had an extremly painfull shoulder to the point that I could do almost nothing with my left arm for a year. I had seen the G.P. several times and had two injections in the shoulder the first made it worst the second worked quite well for a while, then the pain returned. I then had a apointment with Mr Wijeratna, he gave me the choice of a further injection but in a different area of the shoulder joint or an operation, I chose the injection, within five days the pain had almost gone and movment started to return. It has been ok now for over six months I am very pleased with the result. I would recommend Mr Wijeratna to anyone with a simular condition.

Thank you for your kind words! An accurately placed injection can make all the difference which is why I make it a key part of all the talks that I deliver to GPs. Accurate injections and effective physiotherapy can often help patients avoid surgery, but surgery is still necessary in some cases.
